The 1lb 4oz Artic Char From Loch na Thull

Here we are at the start of another season after a cold winter which has been everlasting, and does not appear to have finished yet. Its certainly been a cold April here in the North West with the wind more often than not coming from the North or east.

The fishing has been slow to start on the higher lochs but surprisingly good on the lower systems.

817 Brown Trout were booked with a beautiful 4.5lb Trout to John Garrards rod. A 2.4lb to Roy Robinson. Fish of 16" and 23" to S Lenton. All in good condition.

54 Finnock/Seatrout were recorded and returned, most small but never the less very welcome.

So, a good start to the season and very encouraging for the fishers who supported us during April.

In memory to our Springer Molly we are awarding, "The Molly Quaich," for the best Brown Trout caught by a Lady Angler from the hotel waters. Their name will be engraved on the Quaich and a bottle of malt sent at the end of the season.

Best wishes and tight lines Patrick
